ABOUT
DESIGNING RETAIL
A creative, journalist and interior designer, Peg Lessard began her retail and interior design career with her children’s store. Lavender’s Blue was a magical little store where Lessard’s specially designed collection of children’s apparel and furnishings met vintage fabrics, and cottage industry artisan toys (exemplifying the Waldorf method of imaginary play). Featured in LA Style, the LA Times and Victoria Magazine, among others; the store on highly acclaimed Montana Avenue in Santa Monica, CA was quickly embraced by Hollywood’s notables.
AWARD WINNING INTERIOR DESIGN
Lessard’s career expanded into award-winning interior design after a move to the east coast. Her residential and commercial interior design company, HauteInteriors.com gained fast momentum. Peg’s free spirit, candor and artistic aesthetic became her signature style. She wrote several articles on interior design in local papers and business magazines. Her highest honor was designing the mess halls and captain’s quarters for the infamous USNS Comfort Hospital Ship in the Baltimore Harbor. “Whenever it is sent to a disaster, my kids call me about “my ship”.”
Although continuing to freelance and periodically blog, Lessard put her interior design business on pause while she helped a family friend with her non-profit organization. Peg’s attention was on building a social media presence for Walking With Anthony, the first non-profit organization of it’s kind to support victims of spinal cord injury with desperately needed physical therapy. However, interior design keeps calling her back. She has turned her freelance fun back into a viable full service interior design business offering local and e-design services.
