ABOUT PEG LESSARD – CREATOR OF HAUTEINTERIORS.COM – SPECIALIZING IN TRENDING WINDOW TREATMENTS AND OFFICE DESIGN & ORGANIZATION
AN EYE FOR DESIGN
Peg Lessard was born with an eye for design. “My Mother never knew what to expect when she came home. My brother and I would combat boredom by changing things up in the living room. We would race to design the room while she was gone. Mom’s praise built our confidence. My brother became a carpenter, while I became an interior designer. I cannot imagine the day my children would have thought to change up our living room!” The thought provokes a quiet chuckle.
A CREATIVE SPIRIT GOES RETAIL
A creative, journalist and interior designer, Peg’s retail and interior design career began with a children’s retail store. Lavender’s Blue was a magical little store where Peg’s own collection of clothing and linens met vintage fabrics, furnishings and artisan toys. No plastics. The store on highly acclaimed Montana Avenue in Santa Monica, CA,. was quickly embraced by the ‘rich and famous’ LA celebrities. Peg’s interiors and fashions were featured in LA Style, the LA Times and Victoria Magazine, among others.
AWARD WINNING INTERIOR DESIGN
Lessard’s career expanded into award-winning interior design after a move to the east coast. Her residential and commercial interior design company, HauteInteriors.com was an instant success. Peg’s free spirit, candor and artistic aesthetic became her signature style. She wrote several articles on interior design in local papers and business magazines. Her highest honor was designing the mess halls and captain’s quarters for the infamous USNS Comfort Hospital Ship in the Baltimore Harbor. “Whenever it is sent to a disaster, my kids call me about “my ship”.”
